Sync & Back Up Your Library

Keep your Bibles and publications in sync across all your devices, or save an encrypted backup to your own cloud storage.

~2 minutes
This syncs your imported resources (Bibles, magazines, publications) only. Your comments, coaching results, and account data sync automatically — no action needed.

Device Sync (recommended)

The smartest way to keep your devices in sync. Both devices compare their libraries and only transfer what's missing — in both directions. No need to re-transfer resources you already have.

01

Start a sync session on Device A

Go to My Library → tap Sync → tap Start Sync Session.

You'll see a 6-digit code and a QR code. Keep this screen open.

02

Join from Device B

On your other device, go to My Library → tap Sync → enter the 6-digit code and tap Join.

Or scan the QR code with your phone's camera — it opens the app and connects automatically.

Both devices must be logged into the same account.
03

Review and sync

Both devices show a comparison: what's new on the other device, what you can send, and what you already share. Tap Sync All to transfer everything, or Customize to pick specific items.

Resources you already have are automatically skipped. Only new items transfer.

How Device Sync Works

  • The app tries a direct device-to-device connection first (fastest). If that's not possible on your network, it automatically routes through our server instead
  • On a direct connection your data is end-to-end encrypted and never reaches us at all. On the relay it travels over an encrypted connection and is held in memory only for the moment it takes to pass through — never written to our database or to disk, and never sent anywhere but your other device
  • Sync sessions expire after 5 minutes. If it expires, just start a new one
  • Keep both devices on the Library page during sync — don't lock the screen or switch apps
  • After syncing, your Library page shows "Last synced with [device name]" so you know it worked

Encrypted Backup

Save a safety copy of your library to your own cloud storage or device. Backup files are encrypted and tied to your account — only you can restore them.

01

Save a backup

Go to My Library → tap Backup → tap Save Backup.

The app encrypts your library into a single file. This may take a few seconds for large libraries.

02

Store the file

Save the file to Google Drive, iCloud, Dropbox, or your device. On mobile, use the share sheet to send it to your preferred cloud storage.

03

Restore from a backup

To restore, go to My LibraryBackup → drop the file or select it → confirm.

FAQ

Which method should I use?

Device Sync is best for moving your library between devices — it's two-way and only transfers what's needed. Use Encrypted Backup to keep a safety copy of your library in your own cloud storage.

Does the server see my data?

On a direct connection, no — the transfer is end-to-end encrypted and never reaches us. When your network blocks a direct connection and the transfer falls back to our server, it passes through in memory for the moment it takes to relay, and is never stored. Backup files never touch the server at all — they stay on your device or your own cloud storage. Content & Copyright describes this in more detail.

Can I share my library with someone else?

No. All sync and backup methods require both devices to be logged into the same account. This protects copyrighted materials from redistribution.

Do I need to be on the same WiFi network?

No. Device Sync works across any network — home WiFi, cellular, or different locations entirely. If a direct connection isn't possible, the app automatically routes through our server (encrypted).

What about my comments and coaching data?

Those sync automatically through your account — you don't need to transfer them. Just log in on the new device and everything appears.

Can I reset my sync key?

Yes. Go to Settings → scroll to Resource Library → expand Sync Key → tap Reset Sync Key. This invalidates existing backup files and pending syncs.

What if I lose access to my account?

Backup files are tied to your account. If you permanently lose account access, existing backups can't be restored.

Can I verify a backup without importing?

Yes, use the Verify option in the Backup section. This checks the file's integrity without modifying your library.
